The Difference Between Ketogenic and “Keto”
“Keto” diets have become very popular over the past few years. Unfortunately, many of them are very high in fat with OTC (over the counter) protein substitutes offering poor useability of that protein, and the consequent wasting of muscle. Used over a prolonged period, serious health consequences can occur.
Ideal Protein, on the other hand, is a ketogenic diet. Along with low carbs, it also features a very low fat intake. With a focus on eating the correct amount of your own lean protein, coupled with high bio-available protein foods, you go into ketosis (fat burning) at about day 4-5. Most importantly, you’ll have a change in food-choice behaviors that leads to long-term sustainable fat loss.
